PURPOSE:To reduce the scattering of the light source color and change with the passage of time and improve the color rendition characteristics of a vapor discharge lamp by controlling the amount of sealed metal halides in an optimal range. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2, 2' are sealed on both ends of a fluorescent tube 1. The electrodes 2, 2' are connected to leads 4, 4' of Mo throgh Mo foils 3, 3'. At least halides of Na, Tl, Dy are sealed in the fluolescent lamp 1 in addition to Hg and a rare gas. The amount of the Tl halide is 0.03-0.12mg per c.c. of the volume of the fluorescent lamp, the weight ratio of the sealed Na halide to Tl halide is 6-20, and the weight ratio of sealed Dy halide to Tl halide is 10-22. |
