PURPOSE:To prevent recording liquid in a recording head from leaking and the like on account of oscillation, etc. by a method wherein a vessel in which the recording head and a subtank are combined in a unitary body, is placed on a carriage and the recording liquid is supplied automatically from a main tank to the subtank through a pipe. CONSTITUTION:Drops of liquid is discharged from a recording head 32 to the printing paper according to a printing command signal and at the same time the device motor for a carriage 34 is controlled by said signal. The carriage 34 with a head/ tank portion 31 on is moved on a shaft 35 for printing on the printing paper. In other words, as the head/tank portion 31 moves on the shaft 35 right and left, the recording liquid supplementing passage 37 connected with this portion makes a right and left motion in an arc sector pivoting around a fixed point 38 with the motion of the head/tank portion 31. A centrifugal force acts on the recording liquid by said motion and ink supplying force is generated. Therefore, the liquid by the amount which has been conoumed by printing is supplemented from a tank 40 into a tank 33. EFFECT:Meniscus break, unstable printing phenomena can be prevented. |
