A centrifugal pump in which the hub portion of the casing cover is provided with a liquid leakage collecting channel having a recessed portion communicating through a drainage outlet with a conduit discharging liquid collected in the channnel. Also, the side face of the casing cover external to the pumping chamber slopes downwardly towards its periphery for facilitating collection of liquid at the periphery; and a drainage conduit communicates with such periphery for removing the collected liquid.
