The invention is a procedure for continual composting of compostable material in a container in which material is made to pass through the container from the top down from an upper level in such and a medium containing oxygen gas, which is necessary for microbiological breakdown, flows through in a counter stream to the material. The invention is unique in that the departing gas is drawn from a zone below the upper level in the container with a pipe, nozzle or the like that extends into the zone, whereby a negative pressure is established in the pipe/pipes or nozzle/nozzles so that the medium containing oxygen gas is also brought to flow in the same direction as the material in the container from the upper level in such to the zone in question.<IMAGE> |
