The present invention concerns a support post designed to be detachably mounted on a loading pallet, particularly of a standard design. The support post 1, according to the invention, comprises an L-shaped part 2 and a U-shaped part 5. These parts are interconnected in such a way that the leg 4 on the L- shaped part 2 is connected to one of the legs 6a on the U- shaped part 5. The connection between the leg 4 and the one leg 6a is preferably located near the free end of leg 4 and approximately in the centre of leg 6a.
