<p>The piston engine incorporates a piston (2) coupled to the crankshaft (5) via two connecting rod sections (3,4) hinging together. The adjacent ends of these sections are attached to a control lever (7) in a bearing on the engine housing. With each revolution of the crankshaft a working stroke, a charging stroke and a compression stroke take place in the cylinder (1). The scavenge air or fuel/air mixture can be admitted through valves, while the exhaust is discharged through piston-controlled slots (10) in the cylinder.</p> |
