<p>PURPOSE:To use only one light source by making a P wave polarizing beam incident on a third dichroic mirror after the transmission through first and second liquid crystal panels, and making and S wave polarizing beam incident on a fourth dichromic mirror after the transmission through a third liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:The polarizing axis of first - third liquid crystal panels 9-11 are not converted in the same way, the conversion direction in the first and second liquid crystal panels 9 and 10 is from the S wave to the P wave, and thus, the P wave polarizing beam is made incident on the third dichroic mirror 6. Further, the conversion direction in the third liquid crystal panel 11 is from the P wave to the S wave, and thus, the S wave polarizing beam is made incident on the fourth dichroic mirror 7. Thus, the only one light source is made sufficient, and the title device is profitable from the viewpoint of a constitution and costs.</p> |
