PURPOSE:To provide highly stabilized methychloroform which contains a new combination of aromatic hydrocarbons having an unsaturated group, selected from alpha-methylstyrene, vinyltoluene and specific aromatic hydrocarbons, and epoxides. CONSTITUTION:Methylchloroform is stabilized with a stabilizing agent comprising (A) aromatic hydrocarbons having an unsaturated group, selected from alpha-methylstyrene, vinyltoluene and >=10C aromatic hydrocarbons having an unsaturated hydrocarbon side-chain group (e.g. p-isopropenyltoluene, p-diisopropenyltoluene, etc.), and (B) epoxides (e.g. 1,2-butylene oxide). The stabilizing agent may be incorporated with other stabilizing agents. The amounts of the aromatic hydrocarbons having an unsaturated group and the epoxide are 0.0001-1wt% and 0.001- 1wt%, respectively, based on methylchloroform. |
