The depressions may be between 0À0005 and 0À040 mm. (and preferably 0À005 to 0À015 mm.) in depth and formed by grinding or turning followed by fine grinding or polishing. One or both rolls of a pair may be formed in this manner, the depressions serving to retain the rolling lubricant, e.g. palm kernel oil plus petroleum, during a cold-rolling operation. |
