PURPOSE:To protect eyes of the operator for exchange of originals and extend the life of the scanner, by providing a light shielding plate to shield the light path of the laser beam and stop the scanning operation of the optical scanner simultaneously at the time other than the optical scanning time. CONSTITUTION:Light shielding material 18 is provided movably between laser oscillator 10 and optical scanner 22 which scans optically scanned surface 12 by the laser light from laser oscillator 10; and when the unit becomes the scanning holding state before or after the read scanning operation, this holding state is detected, and the detection signal is supplied to electromagnetic coil driver 32 and scanner driver 28, and light shielding plate 18 is moved to shield laser beam light l, and simultaneously the scanning drive of optical scanner 22 is stopped to stop reciprocatory rotation of reflection mirror part 22b. |
