PURPOSE:To enable an easy bending and forming of a hard plate, by a method wherein notched channels are made along a bent part in a reverse surface of a hard thermoplastic resin plate, and backing materials coinciding with deformed notched channels are fitted in the notches after said plate is bent. CONSTITUTION:For example, acrylic acid ester resin is mixed with a filler, such as calcium carbonate, aluminum oxide, aluminum hydroxide and the like, and with a coloring agent as well. And thereby a marble pattern is designed on a surface of a flat and thick plate 20, being 13mm.thick, made of a hard thermoplastic resin. When the plate is bent to produce a top plate of a counter, notched channels 21 and 22, which are machined to a depth being 1/3-2/3 of the thickness, are made on the reverse surface of the base plate 20 along positions a and b where to be bent. After said parts are heated for softening, the plate is bent in a desired shape. Backing materials 26 and 27 coinciding with the notched channels formed after bending are fitted in the channels. |
