MANUFACTURE OF PASTE TYPE CADMIUM NEGATIVE ELECTRODE

摘要

PURPOSE:To enhance the characteristics of a paste type Cd neg. electrode by impregnating the Cd neg. electrode with phosphorates, and applying Ni plating to the surface of the paste type Cd in a Ni plating bath. CONSTITUTION:A conductive core is coated with a paste containing chiefly cadmium oxide and cadmium hydroxide, and then coated electrode plate is immersed in a phosphorate solution to be impregnated with phosphorates, followed by negative electrolysis in No plating bath. The oxygen gas absorbing ability of negative electrode is enhanced by thus forming a Ni conductive layer on the surface of electrode plate. This enables manufacture of paste type Cd neg. electrode with good oxygen gas absorbing efficiency without causing increase of self-discharging due to nickel hydroxide.
