Moving paper sheets humidifier - using electric field between atomising nozzles and counter electrode

A humidifying appliance for applying a liq. to paper sheets in motion, for example a solvent for printers ink in a hectographical printing process, uses an electrostatic spraying device to atomise the liq. and to transport it to the paper. The exit openings of the spray nozzles face a counter electrode and an electric field is maintained between them. The papers pass through the gap between them. This causes less liq. to penetrate into the paper than the felt pad method so that the liq. consumption is less. The liq. amt. depends less on the paper quality and can be readily adjusted.
