PURPOSE:To make a quartz oscillator thin and miniature and to improve its yield by joining a base body and cover body together at a normal temperature by using fresh indium in manufacture of a container for a miniature quartz oscillator used for the time standard of a wrist watch. CONSTITUTION:In the internal space formed by joining ceramic base body 2 and cover body 3 of glass together, a miniature quartz oscillator is contained. After indium is interposed between ceramic base body 2 and glass cover body 3, pressing ceramic base body 2 and glass cover body 3 from above and below pushes surface oxides 11 and 14 of indium 8 out by base body 2 and cover body 3 and further pushes by internal fresh indium parts 15 and 16 out together with surface oxides 12 and 13. Therefore, junction surfaces of base body 2 and cover body 13 come into contact with fresh indium to join together. Thus, sealing is secured at a normal temperature, so that while the miniature quartz oscillator in made thin and miniature, its yield can be improved. |
