Asbestos-free fibre-reinforced, hydraulically setting materials, which are a suspension of hydraulic binder, fibres, water and, if appropriate, further additives, are obtained when, as fibres, 2 to 20% by volume of filter fibres and 1 to 10% by volume of reinforcement fibres are used, which are both subjected to a pretreatment which improves the dispersibility. Owing to this pretreatment, the fibres can be uniformly distributed in the suspension. The material can be processed on the apparatus conventional for the manufacture of asbestos cement and can be used for the same purposes as asbestos cement. |
