PURPOSE:To secure the even output levels by adjusting the size of the filter element of the color separating filter layer formed at the photosensitive part on the light receiving surface of the solid state pickup element via the light shielding layer provided on or under the filter layer. CONSTITUTION:Stripe type color separating filters R, G and B are formed on at least photosensitive part 14 of part 14 and non-photosensitive part 15 formed on the light receiving surface of solid state image pickup element 11, and then light shielding layer 13 is formed on the color separating filters. The effective areas of filters R, G and B are increased in the order of B, G and R by adjusting layer 13. When the subject is picked up with such color solid state image pickup element plate, the spectral transmittance properties of the filter elements of R, G and B are as shown in figure (a). In such case, the general sensitivity becomes as shown in figure (b), and color signals of R, G and B are as shown in figure (c). Thus the output signals are made even to obtain a high-quality color picture. |
