Laminated film for heat sealed container closures - with paper bonded to thermoplastic film coated with fusible adhesive

Laminated sheet for making heat-sealed closures comprises a layer of paper bonded to a layer of thermoplastic film coated with a fusible adhesive. Opt. the laminate is bonded by an adhesive interlayer; alternatively the paper is extrusion-coated. One of the layers is filled with a pigment to give a metallic effect. Used for closures to be heat-sealed to the tops of glass, metal or plastics containers, e.g. yoghourt pots. Sheet is less expensive than sheet incorporating a solid layer of foil.
