Printer with character type on cylinder - has at least one line of different character types, intermittent printing sheet feed and simultaneous action hammers

The type characters are arranged in the peripheral direction of the cylinder, and several rows of print hammers opposite the type characters. The typed sheet is fed in the space between the hammers and cylinder. At least one type character row consists of a type character group, in which the type characters differ from those in other rows. The sheet feed mechanism moves the sheet intermittently in column arrangement in the direction of the lines to be printed. The hammers can be so driven that all characters in the same column of each printed line are typed simultaneously. Pref. each type character is so arranged that the vertical, or upper and lower alignment of the types extends parallel to the cylinder axis. The printed sheet may be an inventory label for attachment to certain goods. Its data containing half may be typed in OCR manner.
