<p>The covering for a piece of furniture is formed by cutting out the stuffing which comprises a flexible layer such as plastics foam, covered with a fabric on one side. The padding is machined to remove a strip of it from the edge away from the covering. Piping or braid is sewn to the machined edge. The machined part is bent back and stuck onto the strip of flexible material and onto the peripheral edge, on the side opposite the covering. The piping incorporates a reinforcement consisting of steel strips.</p> |
