The bottle closure is intended for bottles whose contents are subjected to a freeze-drying process. A plug (17) fitted with a venting aperture (20) and a collar (19) is intended to be inserted in the bottle mouth. The plug (17) is surrounded by a claw ring (10) whose resilient claws (13) grip below the annular shoulder of the bottle. Fitted over the claw ring (10) is an annular cap (2) which grips with its lower edge below the claws and prevents subsequent lifting off. The closure is opened by destroying the lid (2) with the aid of a tear-off tab. <IMAGE>
