The examination instrument comprises a support for various (3) instruments and a luminous head for illuminating the examination zone. The main body of the instrument may be a spatula holder (4) which has a slight angular deviation along its length. The spatula can be ejected by releasing a spring loaded lever (14). The instrument also has an extension arm on which is mounted a pair of gripping jaws (6a,6b) which may be used to hold a tissue sampling accessory (7). The accessory can be released by moving a slider.
