Photographic emulsion, process for the preparation thereof and use thereof

To inhibit fog in a photographic silver halide emulsion, the latter is contacted with an at least sufficient quantity of an antifogging agent based on a tetrazolium C-oxy-betaine compound. The said compounds are also used in solutions for the treatment and development of exposed photographic elements, for inhibiting fog.
