<p>The mixt. of compost and impurities is advanced down an inclined channel to fall freely from the lower end of the channel above a vibratory screen. The screen is also inclined to the horizontal so that the retained fraction is declined to the horizontal so that the retained fraction is delivered to one side clear of the screen. Purified compost passes through and is collected beneath the screen. The mixt. descending from the channel is interrupted and split by an inclined deflector which separates the heaviest fraction such as stones, pieces of metal, etc. A blower directs an air stream through the falling mixt. above the screen to separate light plastic, paper, etc. The angles of inclination of both the feed channel and the deflector are pref. adjustable. The height of the deflector and its spacing from the channel are pref. adjustable. A powered conveyor can be substd. for the feed channel. The installation is simple, compact, cheap and produces a fresh compost ready for commercial distribution.</p> |
