<p>The pressure control cylinder (20) is intended for a brake system containing an auxiliary pressure source (1,2). It comprises an inlet chamber (26) connected (27,12) to the master brake cylinder (13), an outlet chamber (18) connected to the wheel (40) brake (31) and to the chamber (26) via a pressure control valve (25,29,30), and a piston (22) which operates (via 45) this valve. The chamber (16) on the other side of the piston is pressurised by the source (1,2). Either the pressure chamber (16) or the outlet chamber (18) connect (as shown 17) to the master cylinder via a valve (8). This valve is arranged such that, if the auxiliary pressure fails, it opens the connection (12,41,11,17) from the master cylinder to the chamber (18) (or chamber 16).</p> |
