Hydrogen for use as the propellant fuel for internal combustion engines, esp. for motor vehicles, is produced while the vehicle is in motion. A tank is divided by a partition into a section in which metallic sodium pellets are stored in petroleum. A bucket conveyor transports the pellets over the partition and drops them into the second section containing water. The hydrogen produced thereby is directed together with air to the engine as fuel. This is requires no bottles to sotre the hydrogen and produces it only when needed. Longer distances can be travelled, using the new fuel.
|
