Rotary piston IC engine - has two meshing rotors with teeth profiled to compress gas between them

The engine has two rotors with projecting teeth which mesh with each other. One rotor has twice the number of teeth of the other rotor and rotates at half the speed. The teeth are shaped so that as they mesh, a space is left between them. They have packing strips at their tips to seal this space. The casing has inlet and discharge ports and contains a sparking plug on the centreline between the rotors. As the rotors mesh they trap fuel air mixture between them and compress it. It is ignited in the min. vol. space and as it expands it forces the teeth apart on the discharge side thus causing the rotors to revolve.
