PURPOSE:To inform pedestrians of danger by permitting an alarm device provided on the side of a vehicle to be operated at the time of a change of running direction such as the leftward turn and also permit an alarm provided within the driver's compartment to be operated when a pedestrian comes into contact with a vehicle side auxiliary guard, thus calling upon the driver to stop the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:When the steering wheel is operated by the driver for a leftward or rightward turn during running, a push button switch 18 is depressed by a projec- tion 16 of an operating member 16 integral with the steering wheel shaft. As a result, a relay 19 is operated, whereupon an alarm 5 provided on one side of the vehicle is driven to call attention of pedestrians. When a pedestrian comes to touch an auxiliary guard 5 provided on one side of the vehicle, one of a plurality of sensors 4 provided on the guard 2 is operated to operate a relay 2, whereupon an alarm 14 provided in the driver's compartment is driven to inform the driver of danger. At the same time, a magnet switch 12 is operated to lower a guard member, thus preventing the dragging of the pedestrian. |
