Open-ended tubular container made from transparent plastics foil and whose ends can be closed with lids has the open edges turned inwardly and the corners of the rectangular openings rounded off. Pref. the rounded off edges have a radius of curvature equal to or smaller than 12 mm. Pref. opposite side walls of the container are parallel to one another and planar. The container is made from a polystyrene, polyolefin, cellulose acetate or PVC foil free from plasticisers by deforming and turning the edges at temp. above 70 degrees C (80 degrees C). Rectangular cross-section container permits of compact or space-saving storage.
