<p>A key factor in satisfactorily lubricating components of mechanical systems is providing a steady supply of lubricant, regardless of the quantity desired. A pump (10, 70, 110) is provided for metering minute quantities of lubricating oil to components of engines, machine tools, or the like. The pump includes a rotatable shaft (12, 72, 112) and a surrounding casing (22, 82, 122) to define a chamber (28, 88, 128) therebetween. The flow of lubricating oil from the pump is selectively adjustable responsive to the selective varying of a radial dimension (29, 89, 129) of the chamber. </p> |
