The windscreen wiper comprises a wiper arm (1), provided with a U-shaped connector end (2), which fits over a correspondingly U-shaped spring bracket (3) of the wiper blade and is connected via a snap-in connection (9,10). To prevent interchanging different left-and right-handed wiper blades, the connector end and the spring bracket are provided with a projection (11) and a corresponding recess (5) respectively, which are positioned to permit only correct assembly. The recess may be arranged in the lateral edge of the end portion (4) of the u-bend in the connector to receive the projection provided at a corresponding position on the bracket.
