PURPOSE:To supply enough light quantity even at the time of outputting surface- sequential light by increasing the light quantity of a light source during the exposing period by a surface-sequential light type image-pickup means when the surface-sequential light is outputted. CONSTITUTION:When the surface-sequential light is selected by a scope type selecting means 49, a timing signal from a timing signal generating means 47 is inputted to a lighting device 40, which increases a current for supplying to a lamp 41, for example to 25A during the opening period of a color conversion filter 43, and reduces the current, for example to 10A during a light- shielding period in response to the timing signal. Therefore, the outgoing light quantity of the lamp 41 is increased during the color conversion filter 43 opening period, and reduced during the light-shielding period. Thus, enough quantity of light can be supplied even when the surface-sequential light is outputted.
