The conveyor with compartmented wheel delivers bearing rollers, partic. tapered ones, in the correct alignment to a grinder. The unsorted rollers pass from a preliminary hopper into a wheel hopper sepd. from it by a shutter, while there is a stripper above the wheel. A metering disc with cylindrical sleeve precedes the wheel and is mounted on the shaft of the latter at a distance from it dependent on workpiece size and set by means of distance pieces. The sleeve covers the space between disc and wheel so as to form the metering chamber. The disc has one or more compartments in the periphery, of size to suit the workpieces and is partly covered by an alignment plate in the hopper.
