<p>The object is to produce a cable insulation stripping tool which is easy to use and simple in construction. It comprises a revolving head consisting of a centering plate (4), cable guide (2) and cutter (10,11,12). The centering plate has a series of slots (40-43) each forming part of a spiral, with which guide pins (36-39) attached to the centering fingers (6-9) engage. The fingers are free to move in radial guides forming part of the guide plate (2). By turning the centering plate relative to the guide plate the fingers can be moved in or out to suit the cable dia. Fixing bolts (54,55) in concentric slots (52,53) in the centering plate (4) control this rotary movement. The cutter blade (11) is in a slot in the guide plate, and can be adjusted radially to give the depth of cut required.</p> |
