<p>A socket for joining the ends of conduits, pipe or the like comprising a body of thermoplastic material in which is embedded, in a helical coil, a resistance wire strand formed of a plurality of juxtaposed individual thin wire elements, the wire elements being in part spaced from one another, to form gaps allowing for expansion of or movement of the wire elements without overall expansion or movement of the strand.</p> |
