<p>The tunnelling machine has an advancing shield (1) with a cutting edge (25) at the front. Inside is a framework (9) which has an extending frame (10) supported on it, with a cutting tool (11) mounted on it. This can be changed for an injection device (24). The extending frame is operated by hydraulic cylinders (28) attached to it. The main frame (9) carries horizontal cylinders (17) which push horizontal supports (13) forwards. These supports carry swinging arms (14) which can be wedged against the side of the tunnel in advance of the cutting shield (1). These are swung by further cylinders (20). Behind the main frame is an erector (18) which can be moved towards and away from the cutting face, to position the wall cladding elements (27).</p> |
