PURPOSE:To perform picture processing with a picked-up signal and to compensate video signals with a compensating device of a simple constitution, by picking up the amount of fluctuation of a background signal out of video signals other than effective video area outputted from an image pickup means. CONSTITUTION:A flush light source 1 is driven with a light source driving circuit 1, a light from an objective 2 illuminated with flushing of the light source 1 is led to an image pickup tube 3 and formed on a photoelectric conductive film of the device 3. The formed charge image is scanned with a plurality of scanning lines from a scanning line control circuit 4 and video signals corresponding to each scanning line are applied to a DC regenerating circuit 5. The DC level of the video signals is determined at the circuit 5 and one level is applied to a division circuit 8 via an amplifier 9. The others are applied to a peak detection and holding circuit 7 via an LPF 6 to pick up a background signal out of signals other than effective video area and applied to the division circuit 8. The operation of each circuit is controlled with a timing controller circuit 10, the output of the amplifier 9 is divided with an output of the circuit 7 7 at the division circuit 8 to output the compensated video signal. |
