An upper cushion piece, and a connecting piece formed on it, to lock onto the slab, combine to provide a continuous downward-open gutter, wider at the top. It makes up a rubber profile set on a concrete slab bounding a sports area or playground. The connecting piece continues the cushion piece downwards over its full width, with bottom openings leading into it. Here the concrete slab (1) is set in a concrete component (2) with asymmetrical double-T-girder cross-sectional shape; or that of a reversed L-girder. The outside edge (3) of the slab pref. ends flush with the shorter upper side (4) of this component, while the slab protrudes above the latter's top edge (5). This provides drainage prevents accidents, and permits grass mowing in close proximity.
