Condensation preventing system for chimneys - uses mixing of room air and flue gases driven through chimney for drying

The process prevents the formation of condensate, particularly in heating installation chimneys, having a fresh air inlet from round the boiler etc, as admixture to the gases discharged through the flue. A mixture of dry warm gas from outside, particularly room air, and the flue gases in the chimney is produced by a mixing device all the way round the flue, and passed through the chimney for drying. The device can consist of a section of heating pipe with recesses (14) round the periphery, and covered by a bell (12), open at the bottom, preventing flue gases flowing back into the boiler room.
