A treatment instrument for an endoscope includes members such as a cytodiagnostic brush assembly (10) or a forceps assembly (110), an operating wire (10a), and a flexible guide tube (81) which are held together by means of surrounding sleeves (32, 42, 81c). In order to minimize damage to the materials forming said members during fitting of the sleeve or sleeves (32, 42, 81c), the sleeves are applied by a drawing or thermo-compression bonding operation.
