A novel hydrocarbon reforming catalyst is provided comprising: (1) a predominantly alumina carrier component having a pore volume of at least 0.50 cc/g) a content of micropores sized in the range between 80 and 150 A. in diameter constituting at least 70% of said pore volume and a content of pores having a diameter greater than 1000 A. constituting from about 0.1 to 3% of said pore volume; and (2) a catalytic hydrocarbon reforming component.
