PURPOSE:To make this device lighter in weight and easier to handle and provide the construction suited for mass production by providing projections on supporting plates, and fixing the catalyst-supporting shelves having the concave parts to be fitted with the ends of the respective supporting plates to the framework of the cylindrical catalyst supporting device. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical catalyst supporting device is constituted by providing projections to supporting plates in such a manner that respective pieces of cylindrical catalysts are insertionally fitted and supported within the space formed by a plurality of the supporting plates arrayed in the two directions intersecting nearly at a fixed angle with each other within the framework of the cylindrical catalyst supporting device or that respective pieces of the cylindrical catalysts are supported by a plurality of the supporting plates arrayed in one direction only. For example, the supporting plates 2 are so provided as to assume an angle of about 60 deg. with respect to the perpendicular supporting plates 3 arrayed triangularly with cylindrical catalyst assemblies and the respective supporting plates 2, 3 are fitted to the supporting shelves 4 fixed to the framework 1 of the cylindrical catalyst supporting device by the ones insertionally fitted with cylindrical catalysts 5. |
