<p>The control limits the power transmitted to a drive. The input power source (6) drives a shaft (1) which drives an output (5) through an output shaft (2) and a differential shaft (2) coupled to a power limiter (7). Where the power source (6) is a motor, the power limiter (7) can be a brake which responds to an imbalance in the system and absorbs some of the transmitted power, so that the algebraic sum of the powers in each shaft is constant.</p> |
