The frame for doors, windows etc. is made up in prefabricated sections comprising a sill, two uprights and a lintel. The uprights have projections (5) which engage, and are held in corresponding recesses (6) in the lintel (4) and the sill (2). The projections may be metallic rods partially cast into the uprights and held in the recesses by sealer. Pref. the sections have tabs (11) which help to anchor the frame into the masonry.
