Coating contains an effective amt. of fine particles of resin consisting of polymer of copolymer of ethylenically unsatd. monomer which contains a substance or gp. capable of absorbing UV radiation or pervents oxidn.. The particles have a dia. of 0.01-6 microns and are borne by physical adsorption or absorption. They are blended into raw material monomer or introduced by co-valent bonding, followed by polymerisation or copolymerisation with other monomers. The particle may consist of crosslinked copolymer. The ethylenically unsatd. monomer includes alkyl esters of (meth) acrylic acid, styrene, vinyl toluene, ethylene, propylene, vinyl acetate, (meth) acrylonitrile, etc.. Crosslinking monomers are (tri-, tetra-) ethylene glycol di(meth) acrylate, trimethylol proplane tri(meth) acrylate, pentaerythritol di(tri) (meth) acrylate, etc. UV absorbent and antioxidant are known.
