JAB-169 TRIAZOLE DERIVATIVES Novel 1 -(.beta.-aryl)ethyl-1H-1, 2, 4-triazole ketals these compounds are of the formula: I or the therapeutically active acid addition salts thereof, wherein: Z is an alkylene consisting of -CH2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-CH2-, -CH(CH3)-CH(CH3)- or -CH2-CH(alkyl)-, wherein said alkyl has from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and Ar is phenyl, substituted phenyl, thienyl, halothienyl, naphthyl or of a phenyl radical having thereon from 1 to 3 substituents selected independently from the group consisting of halo, loweralkyl, loweralkyloxy, cyano or nitro. These compounds are valuable in the treatment of plants, animals and humans suffering from pathogenic micro-organisms.
