<p>The disc brake comprises a caliper (1) which is movable at right angles to the brake disc (3) and has arms (4,4') with brake pad (6,6') carriers (5,5') to either side of the disc. One arm (4) acts directly on a carrier (5) under wire spring (19) load, whilst the other carrier (5') is coupled to a brake actuator (7) under resetting spring (24) force. Each brake pad carrier has a pin (17) with a head (18) on its rear face, which serves to locate the wire spring (19). The latter is W-shaped and its two central portions are held under the pin head, whilst the two outer portions are located in the arm (4) on one side, and in the actuator member (15) on the other side of the brake disc.</p> |
