The machine has the fins needed to cool the machine formed directly from laminae in the laminar stator packet. Adjacent laminae or groups of laminae project over one another so that the projecting part of a lamina forms a cooling fin. The laminae(1) have different contours on those sides displaced by 90 or 180 deg. Adjacent laminae or groups of laminae (4) are rotated through 90 or 180 deg. in the stator packet to form the projections as a result of the different contours. The laminae are round on one side and rectangular on the other. The advantage lies in requiring only one cutting tool to make the laminae and in reducing waste from punching.
