In order, in daytime mode, to regulate the temperature in a room to an adjustable daytime setpoint temperature and, in nighttime mode, to a lower, likewise adjustable nighttime setpoint temperature by means of radiators (1), the flow of heating water to the radiator is regulated by means of a shut-off device. Two regulating valves (2, 3) with a thermostat and four non-return valves (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) are arranged in a housing. The thermostats have a common thermal expansion element. The arrangement of the non-return valves in the inner connecting ducts has the effect that, depending on the direction of flow (7 or 8) of the heating water, one regulating valve (2) or the other (3) is in operation. The switch from daytime mode to nighttime mode and vice versa is achieved by reversing the direction of flow of the heating water in the distributor lines (5, 6) of the heating system. The quality of control over the room temperature is equally good in daytime mode and in nighttime mode. <IMAGE>
