发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL COLOR DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an image display having a high quality even if the title device is made large in size by placing a substrate with a color filter layer and a substrate with a transparent electrode by opposing the respective curved convex surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Transparent glass substrates 5a, 5b, of 0.3-2mm thickness, + or -0.05mum surface accuracy and for instance 40mm radius of curvature are prepared, and the surface is covered with a gelatin layer of 0.05-5mum thickness and smoothed. When a color filter layer 4 of about 0.5-3mum is superposed on the substrate 5a, a tensile stress going to the center of the curved convex surface of the substrate is generated. Its magnitude is about 10<6>-10<8> dynes/cm<2>. The color filter layer consists of three kinds of picture elements of a combination of R, B, G, etc., and formed by the coupler- in-emulsion type and the coupler-in-developer type developing methods by a silver salt photograph method. Subsequently, a protective layer of an acryl compound resin (R<1> is H or a methyl base, R<2> is a methyl base - a butyl base, etc.) of 50-5,000 polymerization degree is superposed and a transparent electrode 3a is superposed, and each convex surface side is opposed and placed through a curved glass substrate electrode 1 and a liquid crystal 6. According to this constitution, warp of the substrate can be corrected, and even if the device is made large in size, an image having a high quality is obtained.
