The single- or multi-layer sleeve is for cylinders guiding sheets in printing presses. It comprises an intermediate and/or outer layer with a rough surface, the outer layer being of 0.15mm. max. thickness, grease-repellent and wear-resistant and of nickel and/or chrome of 30% min. by weight, alloyed with further metals, metal oxides and/or carbides of molybdenum, tungsten, cobalt, aluminium, boron, manganese, titanium, magnesium or cerium. The outer layer (3) comprises homogeneous individual layers (3.1-3.4) of different materials bonded together. The bottom individual layer (3.1) can have a partic. high degree of adhesion, and the top one a particularly high degree of wear and corrosion resistance.
